The Team

The WMI of NOLS Australia staff are a talented and experienced team. As you can see below, we employ many gifted people from wide ranging medical and professional backgrounds, all sharing a common commitment to quality, practical and fun wilderness medicine education.
A WMI Instructor has multiple skills and passions. Many have a background or current profession as Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses, Outdoor Professionals and Ski-patrollers. A combined skill base of medical/first aid experience, outdoor leading or guiding experience and a passion for first aid and education draws them to WMI (or we find them!)to instruct and be involved with Australia's leader in Wilderness Medicine for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts.

All of our staff are excellent educators who care about the students they teach. All of our instructors have been out there in the field - making the hard calls in the wind, rain, heat and snow. Making tough decisions, dealing with tricky and sometimes stressful situations and knowing how that can make you feel is what makes a WMI Instructor uniquely able to facilitate student learning, competence and confidence.

Added to this, WMI Australia has a board of Medical Advisors. These medical professionals verify, review and update our curriculum. As a student can feel confident that you are receiving the best and most current Wilderness First Aid training there is available in the world.
